I'm Livin' Life like it's Golden
Keep the healthy habits going
What a beautiful surprise this fresh pressed juice was! Packed with tons of fruits and vegetables that make you feel good and glow. I am coming fresh out of my three day juice cleanse and I feel brand new.
I was not hungry when I woke up on this morning. I felt like I could do another two more days if I really wanted too—I don’t. These three days gave me back time. On average I spend 5 hours in the kitchen a day. That’s a lot of time! On top of that when I am not in the kitchen—cooking or eating—I am on social reading and watching food content. My streaming algorithm is all food and my social life revolves around food. Food is LIFE. So when you remove it, what is left?
I was inspired by my partner to go on this journey. I wanted to cleanse my body from within, challenge my will power and work on my discipline all while staying healthy.
With all the rain California has been getting the last three months I wanted to drink something bright and beautiful while I was on this cleanse.
I know the middle one is not the pretty looking. I added Kale and Watermelon and it really messed up the colors but it was really good.
The colors and the fact that oranges were on sale at Sprout’s this week I went for hues of golden. Immediately thinking of turmeric and its benefits and the sweetness of mangos and golden beets would pair well. To balance off the sweetness we have the acidity from the oranges and lemons.
These ingredients intentionally benefit the body. Turmeric, ginger and lemon reduce inflammation, improves digestion and enhances immunity. Beets are just good for your heart, excellent for your kidney and just an all around body cleanser.
Makes 48 oz
Ingredients:
4 large mangos, peeled and pitted
1 lb of fresh turmeric
4s lb of of oranges
1.5s lb of golden beets, peeled and quartered
1 lb of fresh ginger, peeled
2 lbs of lemon
Equipment Needed:
juicer
mason jars or glass bottles with lids
If you do not have a juicer you can use a blender and a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth.
Instructions:
Wash the produce.
Peel and chop all the produce into quarters so that it can fit into the juicer.
Using a juicer, juice all your product starting with the root vegetables and ending with the citrus.
If you are using a blender, add 1 cups of water to your produce mixer in blender and blend until smooth. Add more water—a quarter cup at a time— if produce is too thick. Then pass the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth to catch the pulp.
Pour into glass over ice if you plan to drink it immediately or for the best results pour into glass bottles or mason jars and chill until cold and do not add ice.
